Factory Production Orders
New Containers Built to Your Specifications at Factories in China
Oceanbox Logistic Limited (OBLL, BIC code OBLU, Hong Kong) helps buyers in the United States and Canada place orders with factories in China for new containers built to the buyer's specifications. The containers are shipped to a container yard or depot at the buyer's destination in the United States or Canada.
These are new containers from factory production. OceanBox does not modify or convert existing containers.
Container types you can order
All container types can be ordered as new factory production, including standard containers (20GP, 40GP, 40HC), double door (20DD, 40HCDD), side-opening (20OS, 40HCOS), four-side-door, open-top, Duocon, reefer, flat-rack and tank containers.
What you can specify
Size and type, door configuration, color, and vents.
Minimum order quantity
- Standard containers: no minimum order quantity.
- Special containers: minimum order of 10 units.
Lead time
Production lead time is not fixed. It depends on the factory's production schedule and available vessel space at the time of the order, and it is confirmed in writing for each order. Standard container types can be expedited.
How a factory production order works
- You send the container type, specification, quantity, destination city and required date.
- OceanBox confirms the delivery container yard/depot address with you.
- OceanBox confirms the specification and price in a written quote (USD).
- The written order confirms the specification, quantity, production lead time, shipping and ETA.
- The order is placed with a factory in China and the containers are built.
- The containers are shipped to the confirmed container yard or depot in the United States or Canada.
Factory order or in-stock container?
Buyers in the United States and Canada can obtain containers in two ways. In-stock units are already at a depot in the United States or Canada. A factory production order is built in China to the buyer's specifications and delivered to a container yard or depot in the United States or Canada after the delivery address is confirmed. OceanBox does not modify or convert existing containers.
What you get
- Depot stock: in-stock units at a U.S. or Canadian depot. Choose from the published inventory and confirm the exact type code, condition, and city in writing.
- Factory order: new containers built in China to your specifications.
When it fits
- Depot stock: you need units soon and the type appears in the published inventory.
- Factory order: you need a specification, color, quantity, or type that is not available as confirmed stock.
Types
- Depot stock: the types published for that depot. Confirm each listing.
- Factory order: all container types can be ordered as new factory production.
What you can specify
- Depot stock: you choose from listed units. Confirm the exact type code, condition, and city in writing.
- Factory order: size and type, door configuration, color, and vents.
Minimum order
- Depot stock: no minimum order quantity for in-stock purchases.
- Factory order: no minimum order quantity for standard containers. Special containers have a minimum order of 10 units.
Timing
- Depot stock: for confirmed in-stock units, depot release is typically issued within one business day after payment confirmation.
- Factory order: lead time is not fixed. It depends on factory scheduling and vessel space at the time of the order, and it is confirmed in writing for each order. Standard types can be expedited.
Where you receive the container
- Depot stock: collection at the depot. Release is collection at the depot, not delivery to an address.
- Factory order: delivered to a container yard or depot in the United States or Canada after the delivery address is confirmed.
Trucking
- Depot stock: the buyer arranges inland trucking and pickup.
- Factory order: the buyer arranges inland trucking and pickup from the destination yard or depot.
How to decide
Use depot stock when the required type and city appear in the published inventory and you need release soon after payment confirmation. Check the published live inventory (https://inventory.oceanbox.cn/ and /container-availability).
Use a China factory production order when the specification, door layout, color, vents, quantity, or type you need is not available as confirmed stock. The containers are new builds. OceanBox does not modify or convert existing containers.
You can use either path, or both: cover near-term needs from published stock, and place a factory order when the stock list cannot match the specification. Trade buyers who need more than one city or type can request one written quote on the buying containers across cities page.
What a written quote should confirm
- Exact type code, quantity, and condition for stock, or the specification for a factory order.
- City and depot, or the destination container yard.
- Timing as stated in that quote: depot release for confirmed in-stock units, or production lead time and shipping ETA for a factory order.
Listings are planning information. Availability is confirmed in the written quote. A listing is not by itself a ready-to-collect unit.
What to include in your request
Destination city and container yard/depot, container type and size, specification (doors, color, vents), quantity, required date, company name and contact. Email [email protected] or use the quote form (https://www.oceanbox.cn/#contact).
